What’s the difference between this iPad edition and the Time Out Chicago I can buy on paper?
A: The iPad edition brings Time Out Chicago to life, letting you interact with the issue in ways that are possible only on the tablet. You’ll find everything you see in the print edition, plus iPad exclusive videos, slideshows, movie trailers, audio clips, music videos and much, much more. Looking for something to do? Click on the yellow hexagons in each section to be taken to the Time Out Chicago website, where you’ll find even more event listings than we could fit in print. The iPad edition also makes it possible for you to easily store and revisit your favorite issues over and over again. Simply archive an issue when you’re finished with it, if you’re looking to save space, and download it again whenever you need it. No need to store all your back issues!

How do I get around the digital issue?
A: You can explore the iPad edition of Time Out Chicago just like you explore the magazine by skipping around or viewing page by page. Use one finger to swipe across and turn one page at a time, or swipe with two fingers to skip among sections. You can tap the screen to reveal a thumbnail preview at the bottom of the device that allows you to quickly scroll through the issue. Simply swipe the pages, or drag the bar at the bottom of the screen to move from page to page. Touch any page to jump to that article. Tap the contents button at the top of the screen to reveal a table of contents page that enables you to quickly jump to any section or article with the touch of a finger. Want to come back to an article you like later? Simply touch the bookmark in the upper right-hand corner and find it whenever you look under Bookmarks.

TECHNICAL SUPPORT

My issue is stuck at the “Processing” stage—what do I do?
A: This happens occasionally when the iPad interrupts the processing of the issue. Typically restarting the app will resolve the issue. If not, you can always delete and re-install the app. You will never have to pay again for something you’ve already purchased, as long as you’re on the same account. On reinstall, you’ll see a box asking if you wish to restore all purchases—press “Yes.” If you miss that box, just tap “Missing Issues” in the Library list to get back access to all previously purchased issues and subscriptions.

How do I delete an issue?
A: In your Library list, you’ll see a button to the right of each issue that says “Archive.” Tap this button, and you will delete the issue from active storage on your device. At any time, you can always re-download those issues again later at no charge.

My app keeps “crashing.”
A: Unfortunately, some iPad 1 users have experienced problems with the app crashing. If this happens, you should be able to fix it by following these steps:

  1. Make sure your iPad is running the latest version of iOS software. In addition to new bells and whistles from Apple that you'll get to experience on your iPad, you'll also have better compatibility with the Time Out Chicago app.
  2. Once you've downloaded the latest software update from Apple, try reinstalling the Time Out Chicago app.
  3. If you still encounter problems, please contact us at tabletsupport@timeoutchicago.com.

How do I reset my password?
A: Just click on the store button in the top navigation bar, then select "my account" in the top right-hand corner. There you will see an option to change your password or request a new password if you forgot yours.

I got an error message saying that this e-mail or log in is already registered.
A: First request a new password and follow the steps to do that online. If the error message is still appearing, please contact support at 877-843-8862 to verify your account information.

How can I share feedback with you about the Time Out Chicago app?
A: Please e-mail us at tabletsupport@timeoutchicago.com with your comments, insights and suggested improvements. We will review every comment and do our best to follow up and address your concerns and ideas about our iPad app.
