Jae Miller, a reporter and fill-in news anchor for Tribune Broadcasting WGN 9 and CLTV, is leaving to become a spokesperson for the Illinois Department of Transportation, starting March 11.

WGN news director Greg Caputo confirmed the move, which Miller disclosed on her Instagram feed. Caputo said there were no plans to replace her at this time.

"I am excited to embark upon this wonderful opportunity with IDOT," Miller told me. "The agency continues to move forward with cutting-edge ideas and initiatives. I am thrilled to be able to apply the skills I obtained during my tenure in television news to this challenging role."

Before joining CLTV in 2008, Miller was a reporter at WDJT-TV in Milwaukee. She shifted full-time to WGN in 2009.

A Chicago native and graduate of Crete-Monee High School, Governors State University and Columbia College Chicago, Miller worked as an intern at Fox 32, CNN Chicago and WAND-TV in Decatur, Illinois. Her first full-time reporting job was at WHBF-TV in the Quad Cities.
