Bob Odenkirk in Chicago for free lecture
Tell your boss you'll be taking a long lunch tomorrow. Bob Odenkirk, the comedy maven who has lately been flexing his drama chops on AMC's meth drama Breaking Bad, is hitting DePaul's Loop campus at 1pm on Friday 2 as part of the School of Cinema and Interactive Media's Visiting Artist Series.
Odenkirk is a comedy legend. He's a former writer for SNL and The Ben Stiller Show, an alumnus of the Second City Mainstage (appearing in just one revue) and the co-creator (along with David Cross) of the HBO sketch series Mr. Show. He's also made cameos in beloved programs like Arrested Development and Curb Your Enthusiasm.
If you love Odenkirk as much as we do, you may just wind up sticking around the Loop all weekend: the Chicago Comedy Film Festival is being presented in the same building through Sunday.
The DePaul School of Cinema and Interactive Media is located at 247 S State St at Jackson Blvd. The Bob Odenkirk event is free and open to the public.
