Tickets available today for Chicago Dancing Festival

A friendly reminder: The first batch of event tickets for the sixth annual Chicago Dancing Festival become available today, starting with the Harris Theater. The Auditorium Theatre and MCA will offer up the precious stubs tomorrow and Thursday, respectively. Though all performances are free and open to the public, the aforementioned venues require tickets (limit of two per person) and they go fast, so act quickly. Check below for dates and more details.
Chicago Dancing August 20 at 7pm. Harris Theater, 205 E Randolph Dr. Tickets available starting Jul 17 at noon. Call 312-334-7777 or visit the Harris Theater Box Office. This concert premieres Larry Keigwin’s Bolero Chicago—the CDF’s first community-based project—as well as Twyla Tharp’s Scarlatti, William Forsythe’s In the Middle, Somewhat Elevated, and Alexander Ekman’s Two Become Three.
Dancing East and West of Chicago August 22 at 7:30pm. Auditorium Theatre, 50 E Congress Pkwy. Tickets available starting July 18 at noon. The 4,000-seat theater plays host to Pacific Northwest Ballet’s Afternoon of a Faun by Jerome Robbins and The Sleeping Beauty by Marius Petipa, danced by two stars of the San Francisco Ballet, Sofiane Sylve and Vito Mazzeo.
Chicago Now August 24 at 6pm. Tickets available starting July 19 at noon. Call 312-397-4010 or visit the MCA Box Office. This event includes a panel discussion moderated by dance critic Zachary Whittenburg, featuring three local companies performing in a lecture-demonstration format.
