Scrooge & Marley | Movie review
We say “Bah! Humbug!” to this LGBT–themed Christmas Carol.
Published: November 29, 2012
The locally made Scrooge & Marley has been heralded as a holiday film LGBT community members can claim as their own, but it’s unlikely many will want to. This gay twist on A Christmas Carol is marred by overacting and seemingly randomly placed musical numbers; the special effects are also chintzy. Megan Cavanagh somewhat redeems the film’s dignity as the Ghost of Christmas Present, but any laughs the movie gets are likely to be unintentional.
