A Haunted House | Movie review
Better never than late, Marlon Wayans spoofs Paranormal Activity.
Published: January 11, 2013

You know a fright-flick craze is in danger of running its course when Marlon Wayans comes along to broadly, belatedly spoof it. In A Haunted House, the comedian takes on the “found-footage” genre, playing a camera-carrying dude whose bachelor pad is invaded by a flatulent girlfriend (Essence Atkins), a ganja-loving ghost and a bunch of unfunny stereotypes. The dated references (a Blair Witch joke?) suggest we’re watching a Scary Movie sequel, but no: That franchise picks up again in April. Which means this exceedingly lazy comedy is just the first of two Paranormal Activity parodies being crammed down our throats this year. The horror!
