Love and sprockets

Mount up Like fanatics of any lifestyle object, most bicycle enthusiasts have some amount of two-wheel fetishism. So is it far out to think they’ve ever fantasized about fucking their fixed-gear? “Not at all,” says Portland filmmaker and cyclist the Rev. Phil Sano. “Bikes are sexier than humans,” he says. “There’s an absolute joy and freedom inherent in riding.” An ordained minister in Seattle’s Church of Bicycle Jesus, Sano redefines the term hardcore biking, encouraging the convergence of sex and cycling with his touring program “The Pornography of the Bicycle,” 28 short films by various West Coast filmmakers screening at 11:45pm on Friday 14 at the Music Box Theatre (3733 N Southport Ave; 773-871-6607). “It’s people having sex on bikes, people having sex with bikes and even bikes having sex with bikes,” Sano says. “If I haven’t offended someone, I’ve failed.” The screening will be followed by a “Panty Party,” a brief underwear bike ride.
