New York, I Love You

HAT TRICK Maggie Q is charmed by Hawke’s rakish cap.
Didn’t Martin Scorsese, Francis Ford Coppola and Woody Allen make this movie 20 years ago? The idea of building an omnibus film around a major city is itself flawed, because it’s essentially like saying “do whatever.” Some of the directorial roster has searched for NYC-specific anecdotes, but the only surprise is that the movie saves its bickering Brighton Beach couple (Wallach and Leachman) for the end. Segments range from the beautiful-but-incoherent (Kapur) to the funny-but-stupid (Ratner).
