Brooklyn Nine-Nine
Most shows set in police precincts are pretty dour, but this comedy from writer/producers Dan Goor and Michael Schur (Parks and Recreation) is just a whole lot of fun. Andy Samberg stars as Detective Jake Peralta, a hotshot cop who's so good that he's never really been concerned with following the rules or acting professional. When the precinct gets a new commanding officer (Andre Braugher), Peralta is faced, for the first time, with a person immune to his boyish charms. Melissa Fumero, Terry Crews, Jo Lo Truglio, Rosa Diaz and Gina Linetti join Samberg and Braugher in rounding out a hilarious ensemble cast.
Brooklyn Nine-Nine premieres Tuesday, September 17 at 7:30pm on FOX.

The multi-cam sitcom format isn't really known for taking risks, but Mom, from uber-producer Chuck Lorre, aims its comedy at some dark material. Single mom Christy (Anna Faris) is newly sober and hoping to get her life back on track when she runs into her own mother, Bonnie (Allison Janney), at an AA meeting. Against her better judgement, Christy's kids convince her to let Bonnie spend time with them.
Mom premieres Monday, September 23 at 8:30pm on CBS.
The Blacklist
In a nice and tidy setup for a procedural drama, criminal mastermind Red Reddington (James Spader) surrenders to the FBI and offers to aid them in capturing fellow bad guys that have made his "Blacklist," in exchange for working with cub FBI profiler Elizabeth Keen (Megan Boone). What, if any, connection Reddington has to Keen will be ongoing mystery on the show, but it's not like it really matters because watching Spader chew scenery is worth the price of admission.
The Blacklist premieres Monday, September 23 at 9pm on NBC.

Undoubtedly one of the season's most anticipated television premieres, this series picks up where last summer's blockbuster smash The Avengers left off. Clark Gregg's Agent Coulson returns from the dead to lead a team of agents as they struggle to control a world where superheroes and aliens exist. With the pilot episode written and directed by Avengers mastermind and TV royalty Joss Whedon, this is definitely one to watch.
Marvel Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. premieres Tuesday, September 24 at 7pm on ABC.

While it may suffer from "Cougar Town Title Syndrome," this sitcom comes from the mind of Chicago funny lady Sarah Haskins and makes for a raucous family comedy. Malin Akerman stars as Kate, a former party girls who, after marrying Pete (Bradley Whitford) is learning what it's like to be a wife and mother. While trying to win the affections of her stepchildren, Kate must also contend with Pete ex-wives, the super intense doctor Diane (Marcia Gay Harden) and the boundry-less Jackie (Michaela Watkins).
Trophy Wife premieres Tuesday, September 24 at 8:30pm on ABC.
Masters of Sex
Michael Sheen and Lizzy Caplan star as real-life sex researchers William Masters and Virginia Johnson in this drama series chronicling their studies of human sexuality and their own personal relationships. The subject matter is fascinating and Sheen and Caplan are absolutely riveting.
Masters of Sex premieres Sunday, September 29 at 9pm on Showtime.

The pilot of this sitcom is about as rickety as Aussie star Rebel Wilson's American accent, but it does lay a strong foundation for the winsome comedy. Produced by Conan O'Brien, Super Fun Night refers to the standing Friday night date that Wilson's Kimmie share's with her BFFs, Helen-Alice (Liza Lapira) and Marika (Lauren Ash). The trio's quirky and reclusive plans evolve suddenly when Kimmie gets an invite to a trendy club from a dashing new co-worker (Kevin Bishop).
Super Fun Night premieres Wednesday, October2 at 8:30pm on ABC.

Don't intend to skate by in history class by checking into this soapy historical drama about Mary Queen of Scots (Adelaide Kane) instead of reading your textbook as factual accuracy clearly a secondary concern. But setting what is a typical teen drama in 16th century France with a teenage queen for a main character makes for a fun guilty pleasure. Also, Megan Follows (Anne of Green Gables) is fabulously over-the-top as Catherine de' Medici, Mary's future mother-in-law.
Reign premieres Thursday, October 17 at 8pm on CW.
Almost Human
The latest series from J.J. Abrams and Fringe producer J.H. Wyman is set 2048, when police officers are forced to patrol the street with robotic partners. When Detective John Kennex (Karl Urban) awakens from a 17-month coma after surviving an attack, he's outraged at the prospect of being paired with a "synthetic" officer. It's only when he meets Dorian (Michael Ealy), a discontinued model with emotional responses that were declared flaws, that Kennex begins to warm to the idea of his new partner.
Almost Human premieres Monday, November 4 at 7pm on FOX.
Enlisted
Part workplace comedy, part family sitcom, Enlisted focuses on three brothers who wind up stationed on a Florida army base in a unit focused on providing support to the families of soldiers deployed overseas, including the somber duty of delivering the news of combat casualties. When superstar soldier Pete Hill (Geoff Stults) angers the wrong superior officer, he gets sent to Florida to lead a platoon the includes Derrick and Randy, his two younger brothers. Derrick is a bit of a smart-ass who likes to stir up trouble, while Randy is wildly enthusiastic soldier with a hyper-active streak. Both goofy and heartfelt, Enlisted is chock full of charm.
Enlisted premieres Friday, November 8:30pm on Fox.
