In 2001, Dale Chihuly’s exhibition of glass sculptures put the Garfield Park Conservatory back on Chicagoans’ cultural map. Now celebrating its 100th anniversary, the plant-packed, Jens Jensen-designed glass dome continues to draw crowds with a year’s worth of special centennial programming, which includes music and art performances, a botanical fashion show and a new permanent tropics exhibition that opens Saturday 1—all under the theme “Chicagoasis: The Greenest Show in Earth.”
