Chicago Gaelic Park Irish Fest
In addition to the expected merriment—jig dancing, traditional folk music and Irish vendors hawking imported merch—you’ll also find the not-so-common offerings. Get up close with Irish-bred Connemara ponies and receive expert tips on how to trace your heritage under the genealogy tent. Gaelic Park, 6119 W 147th St, Oak Forest (chicagogaelicpark.org). Randolph Street Market Festival
Once you’ve loaded up on vintage collectibles, clothing and other ephemera, head over to appraiser Melissa Sands. She’ll give you the value and lowdown on one of your antique finds. The market takes place the fourth Saturday and Sunday of the month except in June, when it is held on the third Saturday and Sunday. 1350 W Randolph St (chicagoantiquemarket.com). Sat 29, 10am–5pm; Sun 30, 10am–4pm; $10, students $5, kids under 12 free, season pass $100.
Belmont-Sheffield Music Festival
Jam to the tunes of cover bands Trippin Billies, Wedding Banned, Too White Crew and others at this fete in Lakeview. Music may be the main focus, but there will be arts, crafts and fashion for sale from local merchants as well. Sheffield Ave between Belmont Ave and School St (chicagoevents.com). Sat 29, noon–10pm; Sun 30, noon–9pm; $5.
