Hidden behind the café in the lower level of the Art Institute of Chicago, the Elizabeth F. Cheney and Agnes Allerton Textile Galleries debuted a rehab in October. Haven’t been there before? You’re not alone. The renovation should give impetus to visit the nook, which opened with a few small exhibits, including “June Wayne’s Narrative Tapestries” (pictured) and “Contemporary Fiber Art” with work from artists in the permanent collection, including Chicago feminists Lenore Tawney and Claire Zeisler.
