If there was one thing that would have benefitted Peter Jackson's bigscreen Tolkien epic trilogy The Fellowship of the Ring, it would have been more nudity—more elvish nudity, specifically. The good people of Gorilla Tango Theatre have stepped in to satisfy those nerdy fantasies with Fellowship Of The Boobs: An LOTR, WoW, D&D, RPG Burlesque with shows running every Thursday at 9:30pm. TOC dropped in last night to see exactly what hobbits and orcs look like naked and we left with the kind of knowledge that would make Gollum blush.

It is inconceivable that this allegedly progressive publication would support such misogynistic garbage that hides under the false claim of "female empowerment." Is this what Gloria Steinam and Betty Freidan had in mind?

There's nothing inherently misogynistic about female nudity. Have you seen the show yet, or are you offering up an opinion of something you know nothing about? Because I saw the show last week, and I found it entertaining and, yes, empowering. I'm a woman and a feminist, and I was thrilled to see these performers offer up a parody of a genre that has so long been treated, very seriously, as male fantasy. By offering up an incredibly exaggerated version of this male fantasy, they showed us exactly how ridiculous those "serious" genre pieces can be.
