Jacob G. Padrón, Aaron Carter join Steppenwolf artistic staff
Steppenwolf Theatre Company will soon have two new faces on its artistic staff, the theater says. New associate producer Jacob G. Padrón comes to Steppenwolf from Oregon Shakespeare Festival, and will reportedly take point on supporting productions in the Steppenwolf Garage, including Garage Rep, First Look and NEXT UP.
Aaron Carter joins Steppenwolf as its new literary manager, replacing the departing Joy Meads. Carter spent the last four years in the same capacity at Victory Gardens, where he played a key role in developing the IGNITION festival and new plays such as The Elaborate Entrance of Chad Deity and Year Zero. His work as a playwright has been seen recently in Next Theatre's What's Next Lab and Theatre Seven's Chicago Landmark Project.
