TOC Kids talks to Mary Poppins star Rachel Wallace

Our pals at Time Out Chicago Kids have a new interview with Rachel Wallace, the current star of the touring Mary Poppins, which is back at the Cadillac Palace Theatre. Wallace says of kids and theater, "I think kids get an appreciation for the power of person-to-person interaction. It’s so powerful to be in an audience." We can get behind that. She also talks about making the iconic role her own, and how her broadsword training helped her snag the role.
Also check out TOC Kids editor Judy Sutton Taylor's review of the show, which she finds somewhat less dazzling than when the tour kicked off at the Palace in 2009 but still "funny and fanciful in the way that musical theater should be." Mary Poppins runs through November 6.

It's okay to be a show-off.
