A Twist of Water reportedly headed for New York debut

Route 66 Theatre Company's A Twist of Water, a major hit for the young Chicago company earlier this year, will open at New York's 59E59 Theaters next fall with its Chicago cast intact, reports the Chicago Tribune's Chris Jones. The play, penned by former Time Out Chicago theater reviewer Caitlin Montanye Parrish and directed here by Erica Weiss, opened at Theater Wit in February and later transferred to the Mercury Theater.
A Twist of Water, which sets the emotional travails of a modern, nontraditional Chicago family against the history of the city itself, starred Route 66 artistic director Stef Tovar as a struggling gay father; Alex Hugh Brown, Lili-Anne Brown and Falashay Pearson rounded out the cast.
