Next Theatre Company announces 2012–13 season
Next Theatre Company in Evanston has announced the slate for its next season. The season opens with Charles Mee's pop-culture remix Iphigenia 2.0, directed by Lookingglass's David Kersnar (September 6–October 14). That's followed by the Midwest premiere of Welcome Home, Jenny Sutter, Julie Marie Myatt's 2008 work about a Marine's rough homecoming. Jessica Thebus directs (November 20–December 23).
Devon de Mayo will helm the U.S. premiere of Everything is Illuminated, British playwright Simon Block's 2006 adaptation of Jonathan Safran Foer's novel (February 21–March 31). The season closes with Jessica Blank and Eric Jensen's docuplay The Exonerated, about wrongfully convicted Death Row inmates. The play, directed by Cat Miller, will be a coproduction with Northwestern University's Theatre and Interpretation Center in cooperation with the school's Center on Wrongful Convictions and presented at NU's Josephine Louis Theatre (April 19–May 5).
