Diane Lane
The Goodman Theatre today confirmed to the Chicago Tribune that Diane Lane and Finn Wittrock will head the cast of Tennessee Williams's Sweet Bird of Youth this fall. The production will be directed by David Cromer.
Lane, a well-known film actor (Unfaithful, Under the Tuscan Sun, Secretariat), began her acting career as a child onstage in New York. Wittrock recently starred as Happy in Mike Nichols's Broadway revival of Death of a Salesman.
The Goodman also told the Tribune that artistic director Robert Falls has settled on Shakespeare's Measure for Measure for his previously undecided directing slot in the upcoming season.
