The House Theatre announces casting for The Iron Stag King: Part One

The House Theatre of Chicago announced casting this morning for its fall season-opener, The Iron Stag King: Part One. The beginning of a new high-fantasy trilogy by House artistic director Nathan Allen and company member Chris Mathews, the production will star company member Cliff Chamberlain as Hap the Golden, mentor to young Casper Kent (Brandon Ruiter), whom Hap asserts is the rightful heir to the throne. Casper's opposed by the malicious Henley Hawthorne, portrayed by company member Joey Steakley.
Zeke Sulkes, John Henry Roberts, Meredith Rae Lyons, Walter Briggs, Paige Collins, Ada Grey, Sam Guinan-Nyhart, Ben Hertel and Kay Kron round out the cast, with Steppenwolf ensemble member Tracy Letts lending his voice to a villain named Irek.
The production team includes scenic designer Colette Pollard, spectacle and puppetry designer Lee Keenan, composer Kevin O'Donnell and choreographer Tommy Rapley, all House company members, along with costume designer Melissa Torchia , lighting designer Sarah Hughey and sound designer Harrison Adams. The Iron Stag King: Part One runs August 31–October 21 at the Chopin Theatre; tickets are now on sale.
