I Love Lucy stage show extends at Broadway Playhouse

Sirena Irwin and Bill Mendieta in I Love Lucy Live on Stage at the Broadway Playhouse
The Los Angeles import I Love Lucy: Live on Stage, currently running at the Broadway Playhouse at Water Tower Place, will add another ten weeks to its Chicago stay, Broadway in Chicago announced today. The show, which embeds "live tapings" of two episodes of the iconic sitcom among other bits of 1950s business, will close as scheduled November 11, to accommodate the holiday run of Harry Potter parody Potted Potter. I Love Lucy will then return for performances December 29–March 3, which go on sale tomorrow at 10am. I didn't find much to like in the theme park–like nostalgia fest, but maybe Mag Mile audiences are loving Lucy.
