Danny Bernardo, Christine Bunuan and Emily Morales
West Loop event space Catalyst Ranch and Porchlight Music Theatre will host a cabaret benefit this Sunday night featuring a lineup of Asian-American theater artists, with proceeds going to the American Red Cross's relief efforts in Japan. Catalyst Ranch staff member Danny Bernardo, a Porchlight artistic associate, has pulled together a cast featuring Joseph Anthony Foronda (Jeff winner for Drury Lane's Miss Saigon; Broadway revival of Pacific Overtures), Emily Morales (Drury Lane's The King and I; Broadway revival of South Pacific), Christine Bunuan (Steppenwolf’s Kafka on the Shore; Drury Lane’s 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee), Erik Kaiko (Bailiwick’s Departure Lounge; Silk Road’s Durango), Jillian Jocson (Marriott’s Miss Saigon; Porchlight’s It’s a Wonderful Life) and Bernardo himself; Stir Friday Night! cofounder Keith Uchima and Chelsea Dolinar-Hikawa (Porchlight's Pacific Overtures) host. The suggested donation of $25 includes food and an open bar. Catalyst Ranch opens its doors at 5:30pm, with the performance beginning at 6pm. Make reservations at Catalyst Ranch's site.
