Eighth Annual Riot Fest releases first wave of artists, adds carnival

Rise Against
Riot Fest, traditionally a hodge-podge of punk rock for all generations, released the first wave of a diverse line-up yesterday. The bill includes headliners like Rise Against and The Offspring, Elvis Costello and Iggy & The Stooges, plus local acts like Alkaline Trio, Deal's Gone Bad, and White Mystery. The Fest also announced that this year, rockers will be shredding al fresco, moving the lineup out of the clubs and into scenic Humboldt Park for two of its three days (some shows will still be at The Congress). The usual outdoor festival fare of food, art vendors and carnival rides (including a Ferris Wheel) and an onsite tattoo artist will keep attendees occupied between acts.
Tickets are on sale now, with three-day passes starting at $90 (includes all shows at Humboldt Park, Congress Theater and after-parties.) VIP passes are $155. Tickets can be purchased at riotfest.org. Riot Fest takes place from September 14–16 at The Congress Theater and in Humboldt Park.
