The Kanye West Yeezus Tour is coming to United Center November 7
The United Center will have its fair share of comebacks this fall. On Halloween night, Derrick Rose is slated to play his first regular season game in two years when the Bulls face the New York Knicks. A week later, prepare yourself for the coming of Yeezus.
This morning, Kanye West announced the 23-stop Yeezus Tour, which will begin in Seattle (in the NORTH WEST. Coincidence?) on October 19 before working its way east and south, ending in Houston on December 7. The November 7 Chicago date is the tenth stop of the trek. It will be his first solo tour in five years. Expect lasers, canines and silhouettes.
UPDATE: Jay Z will bring his Magna Carta World Tour to United Center on January 9, 2014.
The announcement comes just as we've kind of forgotten about Yeezus, an angry, ridiculous and dick-obsessed disappointment with some rather terrible lyrics. Considering how much the polarizing pop star savors the spotlight, it must have been somewhat humbling for his VMA performance to be—at best—the sixth most talked about thing from the MTV awards show. Robin Thicke dressed as Beetlejuice got more attention. Expect West to come out swinging even harder on the Yeezus Tour after losing the meme war.
Though Yeezus is an arguable misfire, no rapper puts on a more stunning live performance. Not even opener Kendrick Lamar.
Tickets for the United Center concert go on sale in a week, on Friday, September 13.
