Record Store Day, Vee Dee at Laurie's Planet of Sound: Photo gallery
The dense, dark, psych-tinted tunes of Chicago's VeeDee make a fitting soundtrack for Record Store Day—an annual event that often features limited-edition vinyl singles and other goodies for sale at brick-and-mortar, often independent record shops around the country. The line at Laurie's began before the shop opened and business thrived throughout the day and Record Store Day sets continued into the night with guest DJs from Wilco, Pelican and more. VeeDee played in the shop around 1pm and Time Out Chicago's Andrew Nawrocki was on hand to shoot the intimate, record-lovers set.
