A roller skating jam named "Friday"

Speaking only for myself, it's been quite some time since I laced 'em up and took to the rink for a slow skate (I think Debbie Gibson or Tiffany had something to do with this eighth-grader's version of "getting busy"). But the thought of seeing Dwyane Wade, Kanye West, Trick Daddy (pending approval to leave Florida following his recent arrest), Trina and more busting out their best rolls, dips and bounces might have me making the trek to Lynwood this evening.

D-Wade, one of Chicago's favorite sons, is getting set to throw down at “D-Wade’s Young, Fly & Flashy Skating Party," tonight at the Lynwood Sport Center (2030 Glenwood Dyer Road, Lynwood). For $30 (general admission), $80 (VIP) or $300 (Platinum VIP) you can be there as the Cristal starts popping. But before the red carpet hoopla, the kids will get a chance to roll around in circles starting at 3:30pm for just $10. A portion of the proceeds from the night go to Wade’s World Foundation and you can scoop your tix at Ticketmaster. No word on whether Kanye will be accepting a conciliatory call from his vanquished opponent 50 Cent.
