What do you get when you slow down Dutch house and mix it with the urban Puerto Rican sounds of reggaeton? Moombahton ! A Latin-influenced blend of reggae, dance hall and soca, moombahton was stumbled upon by DJ Dave Nada while playing a high-school "skipping" party in 2009. Collaborating with Matt Nordstrom, their D.C.-based production duo, Nadastrom , has been gaining popularity across the country and even played alongside dubstep star Skrillex . Nadastrom played Chicago's Tomorrow Never Knows festival alongside local DJs and production groups such as Team Bayside High , Ghetto Division and Willy Joy at Metro on January 13.
