What do you get when you slow down Dutch house and mix it with the urban Puerto Rican sounds of reggaeton? Moombahton! A Latin-influenced blend of reggae, dance hall and soca, moombahton was stumbled upon by DJ Dave Nada while playing a high-school "skipping" party in 2009. Collaborating with Matt Nordstrom, their D.C.-based production duo, Nadastrom, has been gaining popularity across the country and even played alongside dubstep star Skrillex. Nadastrom played Chicago's Tomorrow Never Knows festival alongside local DJs and production groups such as Team Bayside High, Ghetto Division and Willy Joy at Metro on January 13.
