After releasing a couple of clever mixtapes, including 2008’s Seinfeld-inspired The Mixtape About Nothing, followed by his Interscope debut, 2009’s Attention Deficit, Washinton, D.C.-bred MC Wale's career seemed to be D.O.A. But the dreadlocked rhymer was thrown a life raft in the form of a contract with Maybach Music. Wale's second studio album, Ambition, is studded with guests like Ne-Yo and Kid Cudi.

Wale hit the Cubby Bear this weekend for a show packed with admirers excited to catch him on their camera phones or get his autograph on anything at hand.
