Since his debut album, 2009's Psychic Chasm, Mexico-born Alan Palomo has been skyrocketed to fame with his psyche-pop group Neon Indian. Called "one of the hottest new bands of 2010" by Rolling Stone, Palomo performed his ambient/electro/chillwave beats to a packed house at Metro, Friday.
Also known for his work with the band Ghosthustler and as the artist VEGA, Palomo draws inspiration from his father, who was a Mexican pop star in the '70s and '80s. Fans enjoyed performances from all three of Neon Indian's albums, including the September released Era Extraña. Palomo ended the night on a song he wrote for his ex-girlfriend after missing their acid date, "Should Have Taken Acid With You."
Setlist: "Local Joke" "Hex Girlfriend" "Mind, Drips" "The Blindside Kiss" "Future Sick" "6669 (I Don't Know If You Know)" "Psychic Chasms" "Fallout" "Polish Girl" "Deadbeat Summer" "Ephemeral Artery" "Terminally Chill" "Should Have Taken Acid With You"
It's okay to be a show-off.
