Monterrey, Mexico alt-rockers Kinky might not be an instantly recognizable name in music, but its funk-infused hits like the breakbeat-inspired single "Más" have been heard all over TV and cinema (e.g. Weeds, CSI: Miami). The band stopped by the Congress Saturday in support of its upcoming album Sueño de la Maquina and its impressive catalog of tracks that dates back over a decade. While "Más" got a mass of hands and camera phones in the air, Kinky's performances of lesser-known singles like "Negro Día" (featuring La Mala Rodriguez) were delivered with equal vigor.
It's okay to be a show-off.
