Steve Angello, Greek-Swedish DJ and one-third of the Swedish House Mafia, had headlining duties on the Red Bull Stage Sunday evening. “Good to be back,” Angello said before disappearing behind billowing plumes of smoke. The festival had gone into full night mode by this point, as shirtless bears and glow-stick warrior danced and jockeyed for space. Angello delivered fun and cheesy European-style house for the masses. Goyte’s “Somebody That I Used to Know” made an appearance, as did some impressive pyrotechnics. The crowd was in a serious groove mode, stomping and gyrating to the throbbing bass. “Save the World,” a Swedish House Mafia track, got the biggest reaction from the fans, as intoxicated, Navajo-clad teenagers from the suburbs asked each other who was going to save the world tonight. Angello had solid control of the crowd throughout, even getting everyone to sit down and then jump up at one crucial break. He closed out his set with “Greyhounds.” Folks stayed and danced to the bitter end, as North Coast wrapped up its third year as the summer’s unofficial last party.
