Is Prince playing the House of Blues this Sunday?

Prince
Prince's latest protegée is a Cameroonian songbird named Andy Allo, who also sings backup in his band. The House of Blues spilled the news that she'll be making "a special live appearance with Prince's 'The New Power Generation' Band" this Sunday, one day ahead of the Purple Yoda's three-night stand at United Center. It's billed as a "listening party," but we'd take it as a sign ("O" the times) that a warm-up set is in store. After all, it wouldn't be the first time Prince visited the HOB, as you can see in our extensive timeline detailing the Artist's local concert history. Another not-so-subtle clue would be a press release on behalf of Alter Bridge singer Mark Tremonti, whose previously scheduled Sunday gig at the HOB was moved to the Bottom Lounge, stating "The move comes at the request of Prince to make way for an intimate concert event before Prince's three-night run at The United Center next week." So there you go. Maybe he will play, maybe he won't. There's only one way to know for sure. Snatch up those tickets while you can and read our interview with Prince, where he opens up (in all caps and Princely grammar) about his first Chicago gigs and tells us what to expect at his Welcome 2 Chicago residency.

It's okay to be a show-off.
