After a long day of doing a pinup workshop full of roller sets, false eyelashes and vintage 1950s fashion, Bettina May transformed Chicago’s Beauty Bar into a sultry burlesque-filled evening. Canadian retro model starlet Bettina May embodies pinup in the most classy way possible. Her talent doesn’t stop at burlesque performance; she’s a photographer, vintage stylist and pinup coach, and, man, can that girl dance! Chicago’s own Scarlett Deville, Lula Houp Garou, Jeez Loueez and Deirdre Doll joined Bettina May in making us all wish we could shake and strut like that. I’m sure men have a slightly different view on this, however. We’ve checked off Sailor Jerry rum, tassels and sequins for the night. Now imagine Peggy Lee’s “Fever” playing in the background, then loosen your tie and let the fun begin.
