To the extent that I own the Wild Wild West boxset and have applied a bamboo covering to my laptop, I am a steampunk, which is to say I am definitely not a steampunk. But think of all the occassions when being a steampunk could come in handy—switching your car to coal-fired and steam-powered, and, well I'm sure I'll think of another one. Whatever it means, the technologically and satorially sideways-oriented steampunks in Chicago are ruling a nightlife niche these days. TOC caught the Baron Joe and his gang of ruffians at the Abbey Pub this weekend. Enjoy the images—I'm off to do some dirigible shopping.
