Amon Tobin performs ISAM Live at the Congress Theater | Live review + photo gallery
Brazilian producer Amon Tobin's ISAM Live show simply puts all audio/visual acts to shame. This Friday, the stage of the Congress was dominated by an asymmetrical structure of squares—one that looked like a huge, deconstructed Rubix Cube. Using video projectors, Tobin brought the piece to life, taking his tripped out fans on a journey for the eyes and ears. Star Wars-inspired space ships, industrial machinery, and other futuristic sights were all a part of the visual show, which was accompanied by the producer performing his textured electronic tracks from inside one of the cubes. While Tobin was mostly hidden behind the projections, when his production station lit-up, it looked like he was manning his own A/V space station suspended in space.
