Smart Bar has never been the type of club to let itself fall behind the curve. Rather, it pushes. Constantly introducing Chicago's party cognescenti to burgeoning sounds in the world of electornic music. The legendary club's monthly gathering, Signal Chicago, is one such night. Dedicated to all things new, ground breaking and speaker rattling in future bass music, the night is like a meeting of the minds for DJs, producers and fans craving the next cool sound to emerge from the deconstruction and hybridization of dubstep, house, techno and drum 'n' bass.
This Thursday 24, for a Movement Detroit festival pre-party, Smart Bar welcomes visionary producer, label owner and designer Bok Bok—the man behind Night Slugs. There the Londoner and his crew expand the definition of bass music, moving from house to 2Step to juke to glitchy hip-hop beats and back. This is much of what you can expect to hear from the man when he spins live as well.
