To pigeonhole L.A. DJ Them Jeans is impossible. First off, at a towering 6' 8", this dude won't fit in many holes. But it's what this hulk of a presence does musically that's even harder to pin down. As a producer and remixer, he's long been at the forefront of the "blog house" movement, an online community of musical mavericks who snatch up their favorite indie cuts from the Web and churn out dance-floor-ready remixes that they release via their various blogs. This is how Them Jeans was able to rack up credits for rerubs to darlings the xx, ragers like the Yeah Yeah Yeahs and bass man SBTRKT. Now, he's legitimately adding to this list with commissions from DFA guy the Juan MacLean, rapper-comedian Childish Gambino and the ubiquitous Diplo. That's just his studio rep. As a DJ and promoter, he's teamed with hipster L.A. label Dim Mak for a weekly party boasting guests as highfalutin as Lady Gaga and Kid Cudi.
