Lollapalooza 2011, Saturday: The Glitch Mob | Photos
I was just groped simultaneously by a couple. The girl palmed my pec, the dude, he pinched my nipple. I feel like this sums up Perry's. It's a swarm of kids and they're fucked up. I stuck my tongue out at them and took a swig from my beer. What else could I do? This digresses from Glitch Mob, the L.A. turntablist trio performing, but that's the scene during their midtempo electro jam session.
Onstage, three identical platforms are occupied by edIT and his cohorts, from which the three churn out grinding bass and breaks from laptops and live drums, notably their remix of "Derezz" from Daft Punk's Tron soundtrack and "Drive It Like You Stole It" the trio's hit from last year's Drink the Sea. The threesome of turntablists have more skill than a good cross section of the Perry's stage performers. It's a shame the scene here has devolved into beer chugging and glowstick chucking. Then again, who am I to be a naysayer, it's a festival after all.

It's okay to be a show-off.
