It's sad to see the Pogues bid the touring circuit farewell—but anyone who has a passing familiarity with Shane MacGowan's life and the bands ups and downs recognizes it as a small miracle that the gang has lasted this long. A few years back, even though I didn't really plan on it, I popped in the Congress to take in a good chunk of the Irish band's set, I got my fix of Poguetry in Motion but looking back and considering this reportedly final Chicago gig ever, I'm wishing I had found time to repeat the experience. Last September, the guitarist Phil Chevron called its U.K. farewell tour a "marketing ploy," so who knows if this is the last. Anyway, here they are, photos from the Pogues (possibly) last ever Chicago show—shot by a guy named Brendan, naturally.
