St. Charles Singers “Candlelight Carols” swings stylistically from early music to jazz, with German romantic motets by Mendelssohn, 20th-century Scandinavian noels and dusty English carols. Baker Memorial United Methodist Church. Dec 4 at 7:30pm. $30.

Wicker Park Choral Singers WPCS explore the sky in “Star of Wonder,” featuring “There Shall a Star from Jacob” by Felix Mendelssohn and Eric Whitacre’s lovely “Lux Aurumque.” Wicker Park Lutheran Church. Dec 4 at 3pm. FREE.
