The 2011 Eat Out Awards went off smashingly last night at the AIC Modern Wing. Amidst the cocktail hour hobnobbing amongst food scene insiders and backed by some throbbing indie-electro from DJ A-Cup, Time Out's Jason Heidemann chatted with many of the nominees and winners in the big room. Here's a quick, guerrilla-style video clip of what makes Eat Out such a special event—two of the city's biggest names in dining, Jimmy Bannos Sr. and Scott Harris, chatting enthusiastically about not just their own places but their plans for the continued revival of Chicago's Little Italy. Good stuff.
My only regret about the night on the whole? Not getting enough Goose Island Matilda in me—I don't care who owns the brewery.
