It’s American-Japanese, bro!
Few bromances flourish without the aid of food and alcohol, but former corporate slave Mike Schatzman and former Sushi Wabi chef Worachai Thapthimkuna have gone to the extreme: This week, after a month-long trek throughout Asia, the bros will open what they’re calling “Chicago’s first American-Japanese restaurant” in River North. From what we can tell, it leans heavily toward Japanese, with a menu featuring Japanese barbecue (kushiyaki), noodles and sushi.
