Scofflaw preview
On Monday, March 12, the former Streetside space in Logan Square will reopen under new ownership as Scofflaw (3201 W Armitage Ave, 773-252-9700). The team behind the new bar includes Danny Shapiro (pictured, who was previously at Perennial and the Whistler), Andy Gould (Boiler Room, Bonny's), Kris Nagy (Simone's) and Mandy Tandy (Boiler Room, Bonny's). Scroll through the slide show for a preview of the cocktails and space.
Scofflaw is the first bar in the city to explicitly focus on gin. The bar carries about 40 varieites of the juniper spirit and features it in half of its eight cocktails. In addition to the emphasis on gin, Scofflaw has a full bar, craft beer on draft and small plates from Mickey Neely, a former Longman & Eagle cook.
Guests seated at the bar only will receive an amuse bouche–size drink to start, which will always be a classic gin cocktail. "We see the amuse as the bar's handshake," explains Shapiro, who is spearheading the cocktail program.

It's okay to be a show-off.
