The Food Truck Social rolls into West Town this weekend

It's been a divisive and exciting and political and productive summer for Chicago's food trucks. But one thing hasn't changed: Food trucks are for eating. And eating is the plan at this weekend's Food Truck Social, the second-annual West Town street fest. After a reported 10,000 people turned up for last year’s festivities, organizers Time Out Chicago, the West Town Chamber of Commerce and Empty Bottle Presents decided to spread the mobile-meals-and-music fest across two days. This Saturday and Sunday, trucks, musicians and vendors will descend on Chicago Avenue between Wood and Wolcott with a diverse lineup of trucks both savory (everything from Indian to Central American cuisine) and sweet (doughnuts, ice cream, cupcakes, smoothies—they’re all there). Plus, on Saturday chefs Brian Jupiter from Frontier, Carlos Gaytan from Mexique and Michael Kornick from MK and Ada St. will serve their takes on street food in a pop-up food truck. Come for the food, stay for the music and buy a lot of food. It’s all for the trucks, man! Here's the full truck and music schedule:
