Café Tola
Coffee nerdery Low. Metropolis drip coffee is competently brewed; house specialties, such as a spicy mocha, round things out.
Food ambitiousness High. Housemade empanadas (such as an outstanding black-bean, plantain and goat-cheese one) are warm and taste just made (which they probably were).
How long do you want to spend here? A lifetime. But with no seats in the colorful, lively, shoebox-size space, all you’ll get is a couple minutes. 3612 N Southport Ave (773-687-8428).
