Sup it up

When Dan and Mike Cordis open Cordis Brothers Supper Club this week, they hope to create a crossbreed of the swank ’40s-era supper clubs where the well-heeled sip martinis to big-band standards, and the Wisconsin-style, lodgelike spots known for fish frys and relish trays. Order a steak, and you not only get Creekstone’s organic Angus beef but you get soup or salad and your choice of potato, pasta or veg. Have an icy cold Hamm’s with dinner or glam it up with a bottle of wine. But don’t expect any swingin’ Sinatra; a DJ station has replaced the piano-bar area from when the space was Biasetti’s, and the Cordis Brothers promise “everything from acid jazz to hip-hop to rock & roll.” 1625 W Irving Park Rd at Marshfield Ave (773-935-1000).—Heather Shouse
