Bar Deville

Eggnog

Bar DeVille (701 N Damen Ave, 312-929-2349) may call its housemade version a rhum flip ($9), but the drink—whole egg, simple syrup, cream and eight-year Rhum Barbancourt, shaken and served frothy and ice cold with a little nutmeg grated on top—is essentially eggnog. Heavy and potent, it’s the kind of cocktail that’ll slap some serious holiday cheer into even the biggest curmudgeon.
