DLS at Nightwood: photos
Earlier this week, Time Out partnered with the Chicago Architecture Foundation and Nightwood to throw our most ambitious Dining & Libation Society dinner yet. The evening started with Jason Hammel (chef-owner of Lula and Nightwood) and Kevin Heisner (the man who designed Nightwood) talking about the restaurant's design elements. Those elements—applewood, white oak, Nightwood's signature Castle Tile—formed the inspiration of the five-course meal that followed. (Actually, there were more like ten courses—each "course" made up of two plates, one by Hammel, the other by Nightwood's chef de cuisine Jason Vincent.) Cocktails featuring Koval Distillery spirits started the meal; beers by Goose Island ended it. It was one of those evenings where everything came together so well it was almost eerie, which you can probably tell by looking at the faces of the folks in these photos.
