The Whistler is gonna party like it's 1939
Welcome to the world of Charles H. Baker Jr.: "Yachtsman, raconteur, drinking companion of Hemingway and Faulkner." Also a world traveler, Baker published a compendium of his cocktail discoveries in The Gentleman's Companion: Being an Exotic Drinking Book in 1939. The 1946 edition of the book is called Around The World with Jigger, Beaker & Glass, and it's that work that's the inspiration for the Whistler's first official cocktail party. On December 13 beginning at 6pm, Paul McGee will be stirring and shaking a menu of 30 "exotic and esoteric" cocktails from Jigger, Beaker & Glass. As always at the Whistler, there is no cover and the drinks are $8.
Jigger, Beaker & Flask, Dec 13 at 6pm at the Whistler (2421 N Milwaukee Ave, 773-227-3530).
