Spring will close on January 1st
A release just hit our inbox with sad—but not necessarily surprising—news: Spring, the 2001 restaurant that was the first collaboration between chef Shawn McClain and partners Peter Drohomyrecky and Sue Kim-Drohomyrecky, will shutter at the close of its New Year's Eve service. McClain and the Drohomyreckys put Spring up for sale a while ago; selling the restaurant is part of their dissolvement plan. When it closes, McClain and the Drohomyreckys will no longer have any ties to each other—McClain will run Green Zebra (and his Las Vegas restaurant, Sage), and the Drohomyreckys will continue to run Custom House. In September, Julia Kramer wrote a story about the strained relationship between McClain and the Drohomyreckys—if you haven't checked it out, now would be a relevant time to do so.
