Breast Cancer Awareness Month events and specials

Over 200,000 women are diagnosed with breast cancer each year. This month, help increase awareness and raise money for those affected, prevention and cures by attending the events listed below.
On October 22, Fleming's Prime Steakhouse and Wine Bar is hosting "Women and Wine," a four-course dinner paired with three wines made by top female vintners. $95, 312-329-9463 for reservations.
The Peninsula Hotel is celebrating Breast Cancer Awareness Month in three ways;
- A special pink tea (chock-full of cancer-preventing antioxidants) will be served at Afternoon Tea in the lobby. Don't forget to mention Breast Cancer Awareness month when making a reservation because the hotel will donate $3 for every member in the party to the Lynn Sage Cancer Foundation. Tea is served 2:30pm and 4:30pm Mon–Sat, 4pm–6pm Sun. Call 1-312-573-6695 for reservations.
- $10 per dinner check at Avenues or Shanghai Terrace will be donated to the charity when guests mention Breast Cancer Awareness campaign when they make a reservation. Call 312-573-6695 for reservations.
- Lastly, the spa will be offering a $31 manicure for all 31 days of October and a $10 donation when guests mention Breast Cancer Awareness while making a reservation. Call 312-573-6860 for reservations.
The Four Seasons Hotel is offering a "Sip and Spa" for the month. Guests can sip for a cause (15% of the proceeds will go to Lynn Sage foundation) with the Rose Afternoon Tea featuring a glass of Laurent-Perrier-Cuvée Rosé, “pink” inspired pastries, a selection of finger sandwiches, scones, tea breads and whipped double devon cream and preserves. The hotel's spa is also offering a "Pamper with Pink" manicure and pedicure that pink clay and sweet red rose. Tea begins at 3pm, $43 per person. Call 312-649-2349 for reservations. All month, Lux Bar is teaming up with Goose Island Brewery for Brews for Breast Cancer. All proceeds of Goose Island's 312 Urban Wheat Beer (discounted at only $3.12) will benefit the Lynn Sage Foundation.
NoMi will be popping bottles of pink champagne by Louis Bouillot and donating ten percents of the profits from the $56 bottles.
Tapas Valencia is donating a portion of all proceeds from their deserts to Bright Pink, an organization that provides education to young women most at risk for cancer. You know you have been wanting an excuse to try some Profiteroles del Pirineo (puffed pastries with ice cream and chocolate sauce.)
The following bars and restaurants are all featuring a special cocktails (usually pink!) for the month. Some, or in some cases all, of the proceeds will go to charities such as Bright Pink, Susan G. Komen or the Lynn Sage Foundation:
